Coats and jackets are stapled pieces in Moda de la Maria’s collection. This coat is my personal favourite. Not only is it a wardrobe essential, but it is also meticulously crafted using local and ethically sourced materials. Only the best quality for our luxury ladies.
Woven on the Isle of Mull, this coat’s fabric is a chocolate brown wool from Hebridean sheep and crafted using a Victorian Dobcross powered loom. This process is slow but maintains the highest quality in the fabric's finish. Producing the thick wool in natural shades and only utilising organic dyes avoids unnecessary water wastage and pollution, as well as leaving the texture unaffected. This textile is used in many other Moda de la Maria designs, where they are finished with silk linings and horn buttons. Taking inspiration from an elegant 60s styling theme, designer Maria Ruseva has incorporated a detachable silk red collar, adding an unexpected pop of colour. The eye is drawn to this extraordinary detail and the contrasting colours make the design even more dramatic.
With a statement coat like this, your wardrobe will have endless possibilities and combinations. Any look can be elevated by a remarkable piece such as this one.
