Moda de la Maria at Earl’s Court: A Celebration of Craftsmanship and Modern British Elegance

This October, Moda de la Maria brought the spirit of slow fashion to 18 Lillie Road, Earl’s Court, for a two-week pop-up in collaboration with the Earl’s Court Development Company.
The showcase invited visitors to experience London-made womenswear where heritage craftsmanship meets modern design — from tailored tweed jackets to flowing silk blouses and the softest Mongolian cashmere pieces.

Every garment displayed at the event was created from sketch to final stitch in Maria’s SE3 atelier. Each piece tells a story — of fabrics sourced responsibly, of patterns cut by hand, and of garments designed to last beyond seasons.
Visitors were able to see and feel the detail that defines Moda de la Maria — the weight of pure wool tweed, the lustre of natural silk, and the softness of cashmere — a tactile reminder of what makes handmade garments truly special.

The Earl’s Court Development Company provided the perfect setting for this intimate presentation, connecting independent designers with the local community. Over the 14 days, guests explored luxury tweed jackets, handcrafted jewellery, and sustainable silk scarves — often leaving with not only a garment, but also a story.
Lucia’s look, featuring a woven tweed jacket paired with a silk scarf made from leftover fabric, perfectly embodies the label’s ethos: nothing wasted, everything cherished.

For Maria, the pop-up was more than a retail event; it was a celebration of creativity, friendship, and resilience.

“It was a beautiful reminder that people still care about how their clothes are made and who makes them,” says Maria. “Slow fashion is not just a movement — it’s a way of living with purpose and gratitude.”

As the autumn season unfolds, Moda de la Maria continues its mission to design eco-friendly, made-to-order garments using British tweed, silk, and cashmere. The following steps include expanding the online boutique, introducing limited-edition accessories, and preparing for future London showcases in 2026.

Shoppers can explore the full collection at www.modadelamaria.com or book a private fitting at Maria’s London atelier.
